Natürlich war die Idee, eine Show vor Gefängnisinsassen zu spielen, eine grandiose politische Geste. Ein mitreißendes Plädoyer, den vermeintlichen Abschaum der Gesellschaft nicht abzuschreiben. Aber es war auch ein Akt der Selbstvergewisserung eines Mannes, der sich früh als Outlaw stilisierte und stets selbst am Abgrund tänzelte. Dass jedoch das Live-Album "At Folsom Prison" zum kommerziellen Höhepunkt Johnny Cashs werden und eine wahre Manie um den Country-Sänger entfachen würde, war so nicht abzusehen. ~ Jens Szameit (teleschau) aufklappen »
