Grammy Awards: Beyoncé räumt ab!

01.02.2010 Insgesamt war sie 10 Mal nominiert und sahnte nun 6 Grammy Awards ab. Damit bricht sie den Rekord der am meisten gewonnen Grammy's einer weiblichen Solo-Musikerin innerhalb nur eines Jahres.

Ebenfalls als Favoritin galt die junge Country-Pop Sängerin Taylor Swift, die mit 4 Grammy's geehrt wurde. Jeweils 3 Awards erhielten Jay-Z, die Black Eyed Peas und Kings of Leon.

Am vergangenen Samstag nahmen in Los Angeles ebenfalls Rapper Eminen und Lady GaGa je 2 der begehrten Trophäen mit nach Hause. Die kometenhaft aufgestiegenen Rocker von Kings Of Leon ließen gar Musikgrößen wie Bruce Springsteen, Greenday und U2 hinter sich.

Eröffnet wurden die 52. Grammy-Verleihung mit einer Ehrung Neil Youngs (64). Der kanadische Rocksmusiker wurde für sein konstantes Engagement und seinen wohltätigen Einsatz mit dem "MusiCares Person of the Year" Award ausgezeichnet. In seiner Dankesrede zeigte sich Young sehr gerührt und kündigte an - ebenso wie sein Vorbild Tony Bennett (83) - weiterhin Musik zu machen und nicht in den Ruhestand zu treten.

Posthum wurde der Grammy an Michael Jackson für sein Lebenswerk verliehen. Seine Kinder Prince und Paris nahmen diesen für ihren verstorbenen Vater entgegen. Anschließend begaben sich Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson und Usher auf die Bühne, um gemeinsam Jackson's "Earthsong" zu performen.
